Privacy policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Menstruacion is a period calendar that keeps your cycle and health information on your phone. We built it so that we never see that information. This policy explains what the app stores, the few things that do leave your phone, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Menstruacion is made by Helping Heart LLC, 8 The Grn Ste B, Dover, Delaware 19901, United States ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
The short version
- There is no account. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Everything you log (period dates, flow, symptoms, mood, pain, discharge, sex, temperature, notes, pill and pregnancy information) is stored only on your phone.
- We don't have servers that receive your logs, and we can't see them.
- No ads, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across other apps or websites, and we never sell or share your data.
Information stored on your phone
The app keeps your logs, your settings (cycle length, goal, reminders, language, theme) and your predictions in a database inside the app on your device. It's protected by your phone's own encryption, and you can add a Face ID, Touch ID or PIN lock in the app. Deleting the app deletes this database.
Backups you control
- iCloud (iPhone): if you turn on iCloud backup, the app saves a copy of your data to the app's private folder in your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple Account. Apple stores it under its own privacy policy. We have no access to it.
- Android backup: if backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include the app's data in your Google account backup, encrypted by Google, so it can be restored on a new phone. Your app PIN is never included.
- Export files: you can export your data as a JSON or CSV file, or create a PDF report. These files go only where you choose to save or share them.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you choose to connect them, the app can read and write menstrual and cycle data with Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). This happens on your phone, only for the data types you allow, and you can revoke access at any time in the Health or Health Connect settings. Health data from these services is never used for advertising, never sent to us and never shared with anyone.
Information that leaves your phone
- Purchases. Premium is sold through the App Store or Google Play, which process your payment; we never see your payment details. To confirm which purchases you own, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created by the app, your purchase receipts, your country and store, and basic device information (model, operating system, app version). It doesn't receive any of your logs or health information.
- Crash reports. If we turn on crash reporting, the app sends anonymous crash reports to Sentry so we can fix bugs. They contain technical details about the error and your device, and are configured to exclude your logs, health information, screenshots and identity.
- App updates. The app checks for and downloads updates to its own code, which involves a normal network request with your device's IP address.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. Discreet mode keeps words like "period" off your lock screen.
This website
This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. It sets one cookie to remember the language you chose. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them after a limited time.
Your choices and rights
Because your logs stay on your phone, you're in control of them: you can view, export and change them in the app, and delete everything in Settings → Backup and export → Delete all data (which also deletes your iCloud backup). Depending on where you live (for example the EU and UK under the GDPR, Brazil under the LGPD, Mexico under the LFPDPPP, or US state laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port personal data, and to object to processing. For the limited data held by RevenueCat or Sentry on our behalf, write to us and we'll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Menstruacion isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
International transfers
RevenueCat and Sentry may process the limited data described above in the United States and other countries, under appropriate safeguards.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date below, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app.
